Paris Hostels

Paris hotels

Most hostels in Paris can be found in the northern arrondissements, fairly far away from what is the unanimous tourist center of the city, that being the Eiffel Tower, the Champs Elysées , the Arc de Triomphe , the Musée Rodin , the Musée des Armées and the popular Boulevard Montparnasse . Aloha Hostel is the best-located hostel in the city if these are your primary destinations. The hostel is well liked and costs about $36 per person per night, an average fee for hostels around Paris.

Another consistent and fairly cheap choice is St. Christopher's Paris, where you can get a bed for a night for as little as $37. It is self-described as being the most modern backpacker's hotel in Paris. St. Christopher's offers one of the cheapest beds in the city with its only downside being the distance from the Eiffel Tower and the rest of the main tourist attractions. The distant location is made up for by the vibrancy and friendliness of the place that works to get fellow travelers together at Belushi's Bar, its own cheap response to the high prices of the city.

If you are looking to spend your time in Montmarte, the artistic center of the city, you should consider Le Montclair Montmarte, which offers beds for $32 and is just minutes away from Sacre Coeur . Le Montclair is a great way to experience everything that is great about Montmarte, including the Clignancourt flea market and the artistic district that surrounds it. The staff is well versed in pointing out the fun and inexpensive attractions in Paris. For those tired nights, feel free to relax in the comfortable common room to meet your fellow travelers in a welcoming environment. Le Montclair prides itself on being unique and welcoming and, with such a low price, it is your best bet if Montmarte is your main destination.

Budget Accommodation in Paris

Home to some of Europe's most iconic attractions, from the Moulin Rouge to the Mona Lisa, Paris is nothing less than a sensational destination. With its classy restaurants and glamorous boutiques, though, it can also be a pricey place. But from the vibrant Latin Quarter to the heart of sleazy, kitsch Montmartre, Paris hostels offer great accommodation to travelers and backpackers hoping to explore the famous city on a budget.

St Christopher's Inn, Quai de la Seine
Situated in the rejuvenated 19 th arrondissement in the north of the city, brand-new St Christopher's sits on a scenic canal. This modern Paris hostel was built with backpackers in mind and has great facilities, including free Wi-Fi and a busy bar with cheap drinks and live music. Three metro lines connect St Christopher's with the sights and the surrounding district itself has an increasingly popular nightlife scene.

Oops! Hostel, Les Gobelins
Oops! Hostel is on the doorstep of the Latin Quarter's busy student bars and hot clubs and is a short walk from the Seine and the landmarks which lie along it. With its bold colors and designer interior, Oops! has style as well as a great location. Every room is en-suite and the hostel has a 24 hour reception, allowing guests to explore the city day or night.

Caulaincourt Square Hostel, Montmartre
Caulaincourt Square Hostel lies just minutes from the Sacre Coeur in a leafy part of Montmartre that retains the district's arty, Bohemian vibe. The streets of Caulaincourt used to be the meeting place of famous painters, including Picasso, and the bright, cheerful colors of the rooms reflect the arty history of the area. Small and friendly, this value-for-money hostel includes internet, bed linen and breakfast in the price of a bed.

Absolute Paris Hostel, Republique
With a great central location near Place de la Republique, Absolute Paris Hostel is the ideal spot from which to enjoy the vibrant clubs and cafés of Le Marais. The colorful rooms have en-suite and cheap beds from singles to dorms. Helpful staff offer free maps of the city and advice to the friendly, youthful crowd attracted to this Parisian neighborhood.

Le Regent Montmartre, Montmartre
Le Regent Montmartre combines traditional Parisian architecture with modern comfort. Located in the heart of this lively, notorious district, it has views of the Sacre Coeur and beyond to the quaint streets and busy pavement cafés. Each cheap private room is equipped with a balcony and TV, making this hostel a peaceful base for exploring the city.
